Ad Hoc Teaching Assistant 

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and looking for a flexible, full-time role in education?

A welcoming school in Frome is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistant to work on an ad hoc basis with SEN pupils. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and is ready to make a difference in the lives of children who need extra support.

 

The Role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs (SEN)

  • Assist with classroom activities, learning interventions and behaviour support

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure inclusive learning

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students

  • Be flexible to cover across various year groups as needed

 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children or young people (SEN experience desirable)

  • Patient, compassionate, and enthusiastic

  • Able to use initiative and adapt to changing classroom needs

  • Has (or willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS on the update service

  • Open to ongoing training and professional development
