Full time ADHD Specialist Teaching Assistant required for a diverse Secondary school based in North Bury from September 2018.

Are you a resilient and passionate individual looking to support pupils who display challenging behaviour? Do you wish to support the teaching and learning of vulnerable young people?

Due to a restructure within our client Secondary school, a position has arisen for a dynamic ADHD Specialist Teaching Assistant to join the school on a full time basis from September 2018.

  • Full time ADHD Specialist Teaching Assistant, Bury September 2018.
  • Initially on a temporary basis with the potential to progress on to a permanent position.
  • Must have previous experience working with students with ADHD.
  • Ongoing access to CPD training programmes will be provided.
  • Pay dependant upon experience*.

This over subscribed mixed Secondary school is located in North Bury LEA and has just over 1100 pupils on roll aged 11- 16. Although, in recent years the school has faced challenges it has continued to make positive changes to dramatically improve the school in all areas, for the development of all pupils.

The incoming ADHD Specialist Teaching Assistant will be joining a welcoming faculty; supporting pupils across the school board in all subject areas.

  • Work 1:1 and in small groups with identified pupils promoting positive behaviour through engaging teaching and learning, as directed by Senior Leadership.
  • Work in collaboration with the SENCO to develop strategies best suited to each individual learner.
  • Promote inclusive support to all pupils, from all ages, abilities and backgrounds.

"Pupils regularly apply for, and take, positions of responsibility in school. Pastoral staff, teachers and leaders support pupil's social, moral, spiritual and cultural development well. Pupils who have SEN and or disabilities make good progress" - Ofsted.

Located in central Bury, this large Secondary school can be easily accessed via the M66 and the surrounding areas; Bolton, Salford and Rochdale. There are also various public transport options available with links throughout Greater Manchester.
