Ad hoc Teaching Assistant – Bridgend

Location: Bridgend, South Wales
Pay: £13.75 per hour / £89.38 per day
Contract: Part-time | Flexible | Start ASAP (subject to vetting)


Are you looking for flexible teaching assistant work in Bridgend?
We are recruiting Ad hoc Teaching Assistants to provide classroom, small group, and 1:1 support across a range of local schools. This role is ideal for adaptable and reliable individuals who are eager to make a difference in pupils’ learning and development.

You’ll be supporting students of varying abilities, including those with SEN and additional learning needs, so the ability to quickly adapt and build rapport is essential. Work will be offered on a short-notice, flexible basis, making this a great opportunity if you need work to fit around other commitments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering lessons to whole classes, groups, or individuals

  • Adapt quickly to different school environments and pupil needs

  • Build positive relationships to encourage pupil engagement and progress

  • Provide 1:1 support where required, including for SEN pupils


Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)

  • Two professional references from the last 24 months

  • Willingness to complete Safeguarding Level 2 training (FREE through Teaching Personnel)

  • Flexibility to work across different schools in the Bridgend area

  • Driving licence and access to a car desirable, but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
