A Level Biology teacher

Our client college situated in the central Manchester area is looking to recruit an A-level Biology teacher to join their team in the new academic year. This will be a full time Biology teaching position to cover a maternity leave for a year in the first instance.

The current Biologist is due to leave for maternity at the October half term but the successful teacher of Biology will ideally start with the college in September for a period of transition. The college follows the AQA specification so ideally require a teacher who has experience of teaching this spec.

Highlights of this Biology teaching position:

  • Pay ranging between £110 - £160 per day depending on experience
  • Applications accepted and encouraged from all applicable Biology teachers
  • Experienced Biologists who are able to teach A-level urged to apply for immediate consideration
  • Teach in an academic college environment

This sixth form college in the city centre of Manchester is a further education college of choice for many students in the area. They are therefore looking for a strong, successful and highly motivated Biology teacher to join them for this year placement.

This full time position will have planning and marking included as part of the role given the length of the placement aswell as all inter departmental responsibility such as meetings and parents' evenings. The benefit for the Biologist is that you will be treated as a member of the highly supportive faculty and have the opportunity to take part in all aspects of the role and possibly attend the college's Biology trip abroad.

  • Easily accessible via public transport from local areas such as: Stockport, Manchester city centre, Levenshulme, Trafford and Chorlton
  • Discounted access to CPD via local National Teaching Schools

As this is a role covering a maternity leave, this will be on a supply basis for a year.
