1-1 Tutors in Dorset

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking 1:1 tutors to facilitate the learning and development of children aged 5-16 in schools across Bournemouth and Poole.

We work with schools across the whole of Dorset who help students who have a more diverse set of needs to ensure that they get the most out of their time in school. It will be your responsibility to support pupils in preparing for exams, during transition to a new area or new setting and to provide high quality education to support learning and ensure continuity and progression.

The core focus of sessions is to improve skills in Maths and English. You will also have a sound working knowledge of de-escalating challenging behaviour in order to meet the Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs of the young people. Work will be predominantly 1-1 however there may also be occasional work in small groups.

Essential Skills:

  • Understanding and appreciation of working with vulnerable young people and those with additional needs
  • The ability to motivate pupils to achieve excellent examination results
  • You can provide 2 teaching references within the last 2 years.
  • You hold the right to work in the UK
  • You have a DBS or are willing to complete one.
