1:1 Support Assistant – Non-Verbal Autism
Location: Bolton
Hours: Full-time, Term-time Only
Start Date: September, following registration
Salary: Weekly pay via PAYE

Teaching Personnel is working closely with a specialist SEN primary school to recruit a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Support Assistant to support a non-verbal autistic pupil on a one-to-one basis. This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone with experience working with children, who is looking to make a genuine impact in an SEN setting. No formal qualifications are required – your empathy, patience, and commitment are what matter most.

The Role: You will support a non-verbal autistic pupil within a specialist primary school environment. Your role will involve 1:1 support to assist with communication, sensory regulation, and classroom engagement. You’ll work closely with teachers and therapists to ensure consistent support strategies and help the child’s development, independence, and well-being.

Requirements: Experience working with children (in any setting – school, nursery, care, youth work, etc.) is essential. We’re looking for someone with a calm, patient, and understanding approach, good communication skills, and a proactive attitude. No formal qualifications are needed – just a willingness to learn and make a difference.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
