Job description

1:1 SEN Support – Oldham

Salary: £90–£100 per day
Pay: Weekly
Contract: Full-time
Setting: Mainstream Secondary School
Requirement: Enhanced DBS (can order through Teaching Personnel)


Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to help the pupil understand and complete classroom tasks.
  • Adapt learning materials and teaching approaches to meet individual needs.
  • Support the pupil’s social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to deliver inclusive and differentiated learning activities.
  • Maintain regular communication with the SENCO and other professionals involved in the pupil’s care.
  • Encourage positive peer interaction and participation in group activities.
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and supportive learning environment that enables progress and confidence.

Role Requirements

  • Level 2 childcare qualification (Level 3 preferred).
  • Experience working 1:1 with SEN pupils; SEN-specific qualifications are desirable.
  • Previous experience within the education sector.
  • A commitment to supporting pupils’ learning and progression.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
