Are you looking for a new teaching assistant role starting ASAP?

Teaching Personnel is currently working with a welcoming and friendly primary school in the South Woodham Ferrers area of Essex is searching for a teaching assistant to support a Year 5 pupil with Autism (ASC) and ADHD on a 1:1 basis starting this term. The school is a larger than normal 2 form entry with 3 forms in some year groups, offering a fantastic variety of experience to be gained working with children from all backgrounds and alongside a number of experienced staff.

The successful candidate will have a calm nature, great communicational skills and ideally recent experience or training working with primary school pupils with Special Educational Needs or, specifically, Autism or ADHD. Applications are welcomed from teaching assistants of all backgrounds who live locally or are able to travel to South Woodham Ferrers for work and even graduates with little school experience but a proactive and positive personality will be considered! This particular pupil has challenging behaviour in the form of his reluctance to work and disruption to the class, so experience and knowledge of strategies to deal with this would be extremely beneficial.

The role will not be solely supporting this one pupil and you will be able to work with the rest of the class, supporting the individual pupil when he needs the additional support.

To be considered for the role candidates must undergo an enhanced DBS check (if not already in possession of a Child Workforce DBS registered on the online update service) and be able to provide details of two references prior to registration.
