Do you have experience or an interest supporting vulnerable children with social emotional and mental health needs?

We have an challenging but highly rewarding opportunity for YOUTH WORKERS or those with relevant qualifications supporting children with social needs and challenging behaviours in a in Croydon.

This is an amazing opportunity to be part of collaborative school that both nurtures and supports the needs of their pupils and staff! Based in Croydon, you will be able to strengthen your practical experience and understanding of supporting vulnerable children in education. Students range from the ages of 5- 22 years old with a range of needs including mental health, social needs, ADHD, autism and learning needs.

The school are seeking experienced youth workers and those interested in mental health and behaviour support assistant roles across in primary, secondary and further education. Due to pupil needs being open to supporting children both in class and through outreach work is essential.

Roles are to start from September 2019 with an interview being held for potential staff on the 27th and 28th August 2019. Opportunities to apply for permanent positions within the school are available to all staff.

What would you need to secure this job?

  • MUST have experience as a Youth Worker or working with vulnerable children or young adults with social, mental health and behavioural needs
  • Must be interested in working with PRIMARY AND SECONDARY AGED PUPILS and confident in learning new skills
  • MUST live local to Croydon or in the South London area as there are accessible transport links
  • Commitment for regular work each Monday to Friday for an academic year (full time work)
