SEN English Teacher – Specialist Secondary SEN School

Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 3:30pm

A specialist secondary SEN school is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach in a supportive environment where you'll have the chance to make a genuine impact on the lives of young people with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons tailored to meet individual learning needs.

• Differentiate the curriculum to ensure all students can access learning and make progress.

• Create a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment.

• Work closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider school team to support student development.

• Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP targets, assessments and reports.

• Encourage confidence, independence and positive behaviour throughout the school day.

Requirements

• Previous experience teaching English is essential.

• Experience working within an SEN setting is essential.

• Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.

• A patient, adaptable and passionate approach to supporting young people.

This is a full-time, long-term role starting in September, offering the opportunity to join a welcoming and supportive specialist school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
