Higher Level Teaching Assistant

HLTA – Full Time – Wigan – October 2026 Start

A primary school in Wigan is looking to appoint an experienced HLTA to join their team on a full-time basis.

This role is ideal for someone confident in leading learning and covering classes across different year groups.

Key duties include:

• Delivering pre-planned lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
• Providing class cover when required
• Leading small group interventions
• Supporting teachers with planning and preparation
• Promoting positive behaviour and engagement

Applicants must:

• Hold HLTA status or equivalent experience
• Have strong classroom management skills
• Be flexible and confident working across year groups
• Have a proactive and professional approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
