Are you a youth worker looking for a role within a secondary school environment?

Our partner secondary school situated in the central Manchester area is looking to recruit an individual from a youth worker background to join their team in September. The successful youth worker will be supporting within lessons ensuring that students remain engaged and interested in the work taking place. A key aspect of this role will be to cover lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher as a cover supervisor. This will require confidence and a youth worker with an adaptable nature who can cover lessons in a variety of subjects.

This is a full time teaching support role for the full academic year where the successful youth worker will gain experience supporting students with special educational needs, behaviour issues and covering lessons.

Highlights of this support role for a youth worker:

  • Pay will be dependent upon experience but range between £1200 - £1450 per month
  • Full time support role: covering lessons in the absence of the class teacher
  • 1 year fixed contract working at this school; in the first instance
  • Support as a teaching assistant with a variety of students
  • Centrally located secondary school in Manchester
  • Brand new school with fantastic facilities

The successful youth worker should be confident in their approach and have experience working with young people in some capacity. Any experience of delivering lessons or teaching in any capacity would be highly beneficial but not essential. If you have any experience of supporting students on a one to one basis or in small groups, this would prove beneficial.

The school is located in the central area making it very easy to get to for any youth workers travelling from the surrounding areas. The school is a short walk from the central train station and is on a main road in the area which is well serviced by local buses. The school also has a fully secure on site car park and is situated in a brand new building making it a very pleasant place to work.
