You could make a real difference to the lives of young people in Portsmouth in this Youth Worker role! We are looking for a passionate and inspiring individual, so if this sounds like you please read on..
This role is based at one of our Partner Schools in Portsmouth, and you will be integral in the implementation of a new programme aimed at supporting the most vulnerable young people within their cohort.
The Role
As a Youth Worker you would need to be passionate about working with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, empathetic and culturally/socially aware. You would need resilience, and patience, in the face of challenging situations. As well as an awareness of a variety Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
You will play a pivotal part in providing support, guidance and intervention for young people with a variety of needs. You will see your efforts make a direct impact on and improving outcomes for these young people and their families. You will be fully supported by an experience and high performing team, and work for an organisation that is committed to your ongoing development and training.
You will be expected to provide in class support as well a run independent interventions with small groups of students. It would also provide excellent experience and opportunities to pursue a further career in education.
