Do you have high levels of emotional and physical resilience? Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity? A specialist school in Bury are currently looking to recruit Graduates with a Degree associated with Youth and Community Studies to start ASAP. This position is ongoing and will involve working 5 days per week 8.30am - 3.30pm.
The setting provides education for pupils 4-11 who are being educated outside of mainstream school. Pupils who attend this school are being educated out of mainstream school for a variety of reasons including social, emotional and mental health needs and, as a result, support pupils who display signs of challenging behaviour. The main aim of the setting is to support pupils and integrate them back into a mainstream school; however this is not always possibility.
The pupils who attend this setting will often display signs of extreme challenging behaviour so having experience working in: a residential home, pupil referral unit or alternative secure unit will enhance your application.
Due to the specific needs of the pupils the ideal Teaching Assistant will have:
- High levels of physical and emotional resilience
- An understanding of the importance of effective de-escalation tactics
- Team- Teach training (can be provided)
- An in-depth understanding of crisis prevention tactics
