Year 4 Teaching Assistant, Leyland.

The SENCo in a small primary school in Leyland is in search of an effective and engaging teaching assistant to fill an upcoming vacancy in the Year 4 class which is planned to run from October half-term holiday until the end of the academic year. The working hours are from 08:45 to 15:45, with half an hour lunch.

The Special Needs Coordinator is the dedicated member of staff for arranging support assistants across the key stages and will therefore be the main point of contact for this role. It has been stated that, in order to be successful in their application, the candidate must hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification, with recent experience in Key Stage 2. An ability to follow the instruction of the Class Teacher, whilst also leading with use of their own initiative, is essential. Good subject knowledge, particularly in English and Mathematics, is necessary to the role and being able to support the pupils with their learning and raising standards successfully.

The role is situated in a small primary school in the PR25 area of Leyland, which serves a pleasant catchment area. The school has been recently graded 'GOOD' by Ofsted with a number of aspects being 'OUTSTANDING'. Behaviour is exemplary and staff are welcoming and supportive. Though it is not compulsory that you are from a Christian background, as the school is known in the local area as being a beacon for the cluster, you must be happy to uphold the Christian ethos in school.
