Year 2 Teaching Assistant

Do you have experience working with KS1 pupils? Are you passionate about working with children? Are you imaginative and creative with your approach?

This Rochdale based school is looking for a teaching assistant to support their KS1 pupils with primary focus on the Year 2 classes.

This is a two-form school and is 'larger than average'. The Head teacher is looking for a flexible individual, as the mornings will be spent with one Year 2 class and the afternoon spent with the other.

The head teacher is very supportive of the staff members and staff morale in the school is very high. The pupils are very well behaved in and around the school and are very polite and enthusiastic about learning. They enjoy going to the school and are respectful to staff and each other. The majority of children are performing at an average level, however a handful in each class do require further assistance.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with children and will be able to support pupils to become independent, co-operative and collaborative learners. An individual with excellent communication skills and a proactive and a positive 'can do' attitude is required.

The role is based in Rochdale (OL15) and is accessible from M62, A576 and A663. If using public transport, it is a half an hour train ride from the Manchester City Centre.
