Teaching Assistant – Year 2 Class (Full-Time, Newport NP19)
Location: Newport, NP19
️ Contract: Full-time, until the end of the academic year
Start Date: Immediate

The school is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their Year 2 team and help pupils thrive both academically and personally.
The Role & Responsibilities

Support pupils with their learning in class, in small groups, and on a one-to-one basis
-
Assist the class teacher in preparing and delivering engaging lessons
-
Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour in pupils
-
Provide targeted support for children with additional learning needs (ALN) where required
-
Help to create a safe, caring, and stimulating classroom environment
-
Contribute to the wider school community, supporting school values and routines

We’re looking for someone who is:

Patient, caring, and reliable

Passionate about inclusion and early education
-
Experienced in a classroom setting (Level 2 or 3 qualification desirable)
-
Familiar with the EYFS curriculum and early learning methods
-
Able to adapt to different needs and learning styles
-
Experienced with ALN (personal or professional experience valued)
Requirements
-
Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
-
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
-
References covering the last 24 months
-
Prior classroom or childcare experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
