Year 2 Teaching Assistant – MAT Cover (September Start)
Location: Blackpool
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Maternity Cover
Key Stage: KS1 – Year 2

Teaching Personnel is working closely with a welcoming and well-resourced primary school in the heart of Blackpool, and we’re on the hunt for an enthusiastic General Teaching Assistant to join their supportive Year 2 team from September to cover maternity leave.
About the Role:
This is a full-time, fixed-term opportunity ideally suited to someone with recent experience supporting in KS1 or a strong desire to build experience at this level. You’ll be working alongside a dedicated class teacher, providing essential in-class support, working with small groups, and delivering targeted interventions to ensure every child makes progress.
✅ You Will:

Support the learning and emotional wellbeing of pupils in Year 2

Assist with classroom management and preparation of learning resources

Work with pupils of varying abilities, including those with SEN
-
Deliver interventions under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDCo
-
Be an active part of the school’s vibrant team and contribute to school life
About You:

Experience in a school or education setting (voluntary or paid)
-
A passion for education and a nurturing approach to learning
-
A team player who can also work independently
-
A confident communicator with good literacy and numeracy skills
-
Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
