Position: Year 6 Teaching Assistant – 1:1 EAL Support
Contract Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday)

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Are you passionate about supporting children to reach their full potential? Do you have experience working with pupils who have English as an Additional Language (EAL)? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Teaching Assistant to work full-time with a Year 6 pupil in a vibrant and welcoming primary school in Blackpool.

 About the Role:

You will be working on a 1:1 basis with a Year 6 pupil who speaks English as an additional language. Your role will be to support their academic development, help them access the curriculum, and build their confidence in both spoken and written English. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference in a child's educational journey.

Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Year 6 pupil with EAL needs

• Implement strategies to develop language acquisition and understanding

• Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning materials

• Encourage social interaction and participation within the classroom

• Track and report on the pupil’s progress

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience supporting EAL or SEN pupils (desirable)

• A calm, patient, and proactive approach

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• A genuine passion for education and pupil development

• An enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service (or willing to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
