Year 1 Welsh-Medium Teacher – Penarth (Full-Time Teaching Job)
Location: Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan
Hours: 08:30 – 15:30, Monday to Friday
Pay: £166.32 - £193.53 per day (paid weekly)
Start Date: September 1st, 2025

Are you a fluent Welsh speaker and passionate about early years education? Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join a Welsh-medium primary school in the Penarth area this September. This is a rewarding opportunity to help young learners thrive during a vital stage of their development in the Foundation Phase.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver fun, engaging lessons to Year 1 pupils through the medium of Welsh

  • Support literacy, numeracy, and personal development in line with the Curriculum for Wales

  • Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment

  • Track and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies to suit individual needs

  • Work closely with TAs, parents, and senior staff to promote the best outcomes for learners

  • Maintain positive behaviour and support school-wide expectations and values

Requirements:

  • Fluent Welsh speaker (essential)

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or PGCE (Primary)

  • Experience in Foundation Phase or Key Stage 1 preferred

  • Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills

  • A caring, creative, and proactive approach to teaching
