Level 3 Phonics Specialist Learning Support Assistant required for primary school in Thornaby

  • Flexible Intervention based support
  • Letters and Sounds Phonics experience favourable
  • Highly supportive class teacher

On behalf of a primary school based in Thornaby we are looking to recruit an experienced learning support assistant for a part time intervention based role to begin in late February 2017. The role will be mainly focused on delivering small group work activities to raise attainment in Phonics and Literacy. The ideal candidate for the role will be experienced and confident in delivering and assessing Literacy based activities and will be able to communicate effectively with both pupils and staff. The school itself have high levels of children who receive pupil premium and so experience of working in schools with a similar background would be useful. The role will be reviewed at Easter with potential to be extended. All candidates applying to jobs through Teaching Personnel must undertake or have undertaken an Enhanced Disclosure via the DBS – Full assistance provided (AGY)

Teaching Personnel work in partnership with a variety of leading, nationally recognised CPD providers, such as National Association of SEN, National Autistic Society, Rush Miskin, Team Teach, Educare, Creative Education and Hexham Newcastle Diocese with additional local school partners. These partners deliver an extensive range of career developing opportunities to you, covering areas such as; Child Protection in Education, Prevent Duty, an accredited Holistic Approach to Behaviour Management, Understanding and Supporting Children and Adults on the Autism Spectrum, An Introduction to Special Educational Needs and Disability, Effective Adult Learning Support, Implications for Challenging Behaviour, Meeting the Emotional, Social and Mental Health Needs of Children and Young People, Differentiation, Data Handling, Assessment for Learning, Planning for Progression, Read Write Inc. and Safeguarding. In addition to this we work alongside many leaders of education and have our own ex-head teacher that provides candidates with bespoke, high-quality training.
