Year 1 1:1 Support for a Pupil with Autism

We are looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Full Time Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism in Year 1 within our warm, welcoming, and inclusive primary school community.

You will join a supportive and experienced team of teaching professionals who work collaboratively to provide engaging learning experiences and personalised support for every child. The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism in Year 1
  • Support the child’s learning, emotional wellbeing, communication, and social development
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and wider school staff
  • Help adapt classroom activities to meet individual learning needs
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive engagement in school life
  • Foster a calm, consistent, and nurturing learning environment

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience supporting children with additional needs, particularly Autism
  • Is patient, compassionate, and adaptable
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Can work effectively as part of a team
  • Is committed to inclusive education and child-centred support
  • Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and enthusiasm

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
