Year 1 Class Teacher

Location: Bury (BL9)

Start Date: Tuesday 1st September 2026

Contract: Full‑time, until Thursday 25th March 2027 (with potential for extension)

Teaching Personnel are working alongside a large, welcoming primary school in BL9 to appoint a passionate Year 1 Class Teacher. This is a full‑time class responsibility position, ideal for a teacher who is eager to make a positive impact during the crucial transition into Key Stage 1. Tuesday 1st September, will be an INSET day and the children will start back on Wednesday 2nd September.

About the Role

As the Year 1 Class Teacher, you will:

- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and creative lessons aligned with the KS1 curriculum

- Establish strong routines and create a warm, nurturing classroom environment

- Support pupils in their transition from Early Years into more structured learning

- Work closely with teaching assistants and fellow KS1 staff to ensure continuity and consistency

- Communicate effectively with parents and carers, building strong partnerships

- Contribute fully to school life, including meetings, planning sessions, and year‑group activities

Please note: As this is a full‑time class teacher position, planning and assessment responsibilities are required.

About You

- We are looking for a teacher who:

- Holds QTS (ECT or FQT)

- Has experience teaching within KS1, ideally in Year 1

- Has a good knowledge of Phonics

- Is confident in delivering high‑quality, engaging lessons

- Is passionate about supporting children’s academic and emotional development

- Is organised, reflective, and able to work effectively as part of a team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
