Welsh Speaking 1-2-1 Teaching Assistant 

Are you a passionate Welsh-speaking individual who enjoys working with children with additional learning needs and making a positive difference in their lives, if so we would love to hear from you.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistant to work on a 1-2-1 basis with a student in a SEN base of one of our Primary Schools.

This role is based in Caerphilly and is a full time role, Monday to Friday (8:20-3:30) with an ideal start date of the 15th April 2024.

Job responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised assistance to a student with additional learning needs, ensuring tailored educational support.
  • Cultivate a nurturing and inclusive learning atmosphere to enhance both academic and social growth for all pupils.
  • Engage in teamwork with teaching staff and fellow learning support colleagues to devise and execute effective strategies for student achievement.
  • Maintain meticulous records of student advancements and actively contribute to assessments and reports.
  • Effectively communicate with parents/guardians, furnishing regular updates on student progress and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
  • Collaborate with external professionals, such as educational psychologists or speech and language therapists, to cater to the unique requirements of students.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Fluent Welsh speaker with strong written and verbal communication skills in both Welsh and English.
  • Prior background in assisting children with additional learning needs in an educational environment.
  • Experience building rapport with pupils with ALN on a 1-2-1 basis.
  • Comprehension of diverse learning challenges and adeptness in employing varied strategies for fostering student advancement.
  • Skill in fostering constructive connections with students, educators, and parents/guardians.
  • Demonstrated traits, patience, empathy, and capacity to maintain composure in demanding circumstances.
  • Proficiency in organisation, time management, and task prioritisation.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
