1:1 Learning Support Assistant (Year 5)

Location: CF83

Salary: GRADE 3 - £12.90ph

Job type: Mon-Fri (8.30am-3.30pm)

Start: As soon as possible (Apr 2024)

A client school that we work closely with have asked Teaching Personnel to recruit a Learning Support Assistant on their behalf to support a pupil in Year 5 with Autism, to start as soon as possible. The school would like to appoint a Special Learning Support Assistant (LSA) who is energetic, patient, and positive.

Whilst having experience working with children who have SEN in a professional setting is desirable, we welcome applications from people who have personal experience or someone with transferrable skills.

 

Your duties:

  • You will need to work with a 1:1 child by supporting throughout all areas of the curriculum, i.e. to facilitate access to lessons reinforcing the teacher's instructions in a visual format.
  • To work to the direction of the teacher and to support the set-up of individual schedules and work systems.
  • To help the students work as independently as possible.
  • To help supervise students at designated lunch or break times as directed by the teacher.
  • Create a positive and caring, safe, and secure environment
  • Help to build positive relationships between home and school

Minimum vetting requirements needed:

(You will be fully supported to ensure necessary vetting applications and documents are submitted prior to working for Teaching Personnel).

  • Enhanced CHILD ONLY DBS
  • Registering as a School Learning Support Worker with the Education Workforce Council
  • Safeguarding Training
  • 2 x suitable references
