Oldham Local Authority (LEA) are currently looking to appoint a multiple Tutors who are able available for a September 2019 start. As a tutor you will work directly with pupils from a variety of backgrounds including: those with SEMH needs, LAC pupils and pupils with profound SEN needs. These pupils require 1:1 and generally the tutoring sessions will involve covering basic English and Maths.
Pupils who require tuition are being educated outside of mainstream education for a variety of reasons including: SEN needs, SEMH needs and pupils with EAL. The majority of pupils who require tuition are identified as vulnerable young people so ideally Tutors will have prior experience working with pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The tuition is managed on a referral basis and each referral will involve working for 5 days per week for 2 hours per day and you can take on as many referrals as you wish.
To be considered for the role you should have:
- Qualified Teacher Status or relevant tutoring experience
- An in-depth knowledge of how to deliver sessions across the Primary and Secondary Curriculum
- The ability to build positive relationships with vulnerable young people and their parents/ carers
