Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking 1:1 tutors to facilitate the learning and development of pupils with SEN in the Weymouth area.

We work with schools, Virtual Schools and the Local Council to provide tutors for pupils who are currently out of school due to Special Educational Needs. This can include Autism, SEMH, ADHD, LAC, Medical Needs and pupils who have been temporarily/permanently excluded.

You will usually be working either within the home or within a residential care setting. The core focus of sessions is to improve skills in Maths and English. You will also have a sound working knowledge of de-escalating challenging behaviour in order to meet the Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs of the young people.

The session quantities and times vary depending on the pupil. We are currently looking for tutors to work with both primary and secondary aged pupils.

Essential Skills:

- Understanding and appreciation of working with vulnerable young people and those with additional needs

- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)

- Excellent time-keeping and organisational skills

- Flexibility to work part-time
