We are recruiting an experienced SEND Tutor for a specialist education setting in Yeovil. This is a full-time, permanent position starting in October 2026, offering the opportunity to build genuine continuity with young people and become an established member of the team.

We need an educator who already has relevant experience supporting learners with additional needs and can hit the ground running. You will need the confidence to deliver engaging learning while adapting your approach to meet individual abilities, needs and development goals.

What Does the Role Involve?

• Planning and delivering accessible and engaging learning sessions.
• Adjusting activities to meet different abilities and individual SEND needs.
• Supporting learners to develop academic, practical and independence skills.
• Monitoring progress and adapting your teaching accordingly.
• Creating a positive environment where learners feel comfortable participating.
• Managing behaviour calmly and maintaining appropriate boundaries.
• Working closely with support staff and other professionals.
• Encouraging confidence, communication and personal development.

Who Would Be a Good Fit?

We would particularly like to hear from Tutors, Teachers, Instructors or experienced education professionals who have previously supported young people with SEND.

You should be comfortable taking responsibility for learning, able to think on your feet and confident adapting sessions when something is not working. Patience, resilience and strong communication skills will be essential.

Previous relevant experience is important for this position. The setting needs someone who understands specialist education and can arrive ready to hit the ground running.
