1:1 Tutor – Towcester & Surrounding Areas

Are you an experienced teacher or tutor looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference?

TP Tutors, part of Teaching Personnel, is seeking dedicated 1:1 Tutors to provide personalised tuition to children and young people across Towcester, and the surrounding areas.

Tuition is delivered in pupils' homes, schools, or alternative education settings during school hours, helping learners who require additional academic support, are unable to access mainstream education full-time, or have special educational needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity to provide tailored, one-to-one learning that builds confidence, supports academic progress, and helps pupils achieve their full potential.

Pay

Competitive hourly pay, based on experience, qualifications, subject specialism, and learner needs.

Working Pattern

  • Flexible part-time and full-time opportunities
  • Tuition delivered primarily during school hours (Monday to Friday)
  • Long-term and ongoing assignments available
  • Travel to pupils' homes, schools, and alternative provisions across Towcester and surrounding areas is required

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, personalised 1:1 tuition tailored to each learner's needs.
  • Plan and deliver lessons in line with the National Curriculum or individual learning plans.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support pupils with varying abilities and learning needs.
  • Support learners to develop confidence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours.
  • Monitor progress and complete session reports following each lesson.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, schools, local authorities, and other professionals.

Essential Requirements

  • A minimum of two years' UK teaching or tutoring experience.
  • Experience teaching one or more of the following: Primary, Secondary, GCSE, Functional Skills, SEND
  • Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to travel reliably between tuition locations.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or another recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, dyslexia, and speech and language needs.
  • Experience delivering tuition in pupils' homes, schools, or alternative provisions.
  • Knowledge of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

This role covers Towcester, and nearby areas. Applicants should be willing to travel to tuition locations within the local region.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
