Job description

Job Title: 1:1 Tutor
Location: Towcester Area
Hours: Flexible (during school hours)
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (depending on experience and qualifications)

About the Role:
We are currently seeking committed and enthusiastic 1:1 Tutors to support pupils in the Towcester area. This role involves working with students who may need additional academic support outside of a mainstream classroom, either within a school setting or at the pupil’s home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored, engaging 1:1 lessons based on individual learning needs
  • Support pupils in core subjects such as English, Maths, and/or Science
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit different abilities and learning styles
  • Provide support to pupils with additional needs, including SEND and SEMH where required
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and other professionals

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people (teaching, tutoring, or support roles)
  • Strong understanding of the UK curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule

Desirable:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
  • Experience supporting SEND or SEMH pupils
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
