Functional Skills Tutor – Sunderland

Are you passionate about supporting learners to gain the essential English and Maths skills they need for life and work? TPTutors is expanding across the North East and we’re looking for Functional Skills Tutors to support learners across Sunderland.

Whether you're an experienced teacher or skilled educator with a passion for alternative education pathways, we’d love to hear from you!


What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience delivering Functional Skills English and/or Maths (Levels 1 & 2)

  • Confidence working with learners across KS3 and KS4, often in alternative provision, home education, or catch-up settings

  • Ability to engage learners who may have barriers to education, including low confidence, SEND, or SEMH needs

  • Availability to deliver sessions in person across Sunderland or online

  • Relevant teaching qualifications (QTS/QTLS/PGCE) or proven experience in education/training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
