Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Tutor with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to work with KS2 to KS4 pupils across Skipton. This part-time position, which operates during term time, offers you the chance to inspire and support children with SEN to achieve their full potential in numeracy, literacy, and reading.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions to pupils with SEN.

  • Develop personalised learning plans based on each student's needs and abilities.

  • Create engaging and interactive lessons that promote numeracy, literacy, and reading skills.

  • Monitor and track student progress, adjusting teaching methods as needed.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

  • Previous experience in SEN teaching or tutoring is essential.

  • Strong background in numeracy, literacy, and reading skills.

  • Knowledge of various SEN conditions and strategies to support students with diverse needs.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to individual learning styles.

Working Hours:

This is a part-time position, operating during term time. The exact working hours can be discussed during the interview process and may vary based on the needs of the students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
