Job description

SEN Tutor (QTS) – Hull | £25–£30/hr | 1:1 Alternative Provision Support

TP Tutors is looking for Fully Qualified Teachers with experience supporting SEND and SEMH pupils to deliver tailored 1:1 tuition in Hull and surrounding areas. This role focuses on helping learners who are not currently in mainstream education — including those with EHCPs, anxiety-related school refusal, or awaiting placement.

You’ll be delivering engaging, structured sessions that meet both academic and emotional needs, often in settings like the home, libraries, care homes, or specialist centres.

What You’ll Be Delivering:

  • 1:1 tuition in core subjects (English/Maths/Science)

  • Support for learners with autism, ADHD, ODD, trauma, or behavioural challenges

  • Session plans linked to EHCP outcomes and/or school reintegration pathways

  • Calm, consistent tuition that focuses on routine, reassurance, and trust-building

  • Flexible hours (typically school day or early evenings)

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • QTS (or equivalent) with SEND experience

  • Confident planning for neurodiverse learners

  • Skilled in de-escalation and nurturing approaches

  • Enhanced DBS (on update service or willing to apply)

  • Safeguarding training

  • Driving licence helpful

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
