Job description

English and/or Math Tutors required across Northumberland – KS3 & KS4 (Alternative Provision)
Location: Alnwick
Pay: £25–£35 per hour

Are you a passionate and experienced English and or Math Tutor looking to make a real difference in students’ lives? TP Tutors is seeking dedicated individuals to provide one-to-one or small group tuition for KS3 and KS4 students in alternative provision settings. Sessions may take place in students' homes, community hubs, or schools across Alnwick or wider Northumberland.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective English and or Math lessons tailored to the UK National Curriculum.
  • Personalise tuition to suit individual learning styles and needs.
  • Track and report on student progress using TP Tutors' bespoke platform.
  • Build positive, supportive relationships to help students grow both academically and personally.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Fully Qualified Teaching Status with QTS
  • Proven experience teaching English and or Math
  •  at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Confidence in working with students who may have diverse or additional learning needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire and motivate.
  • A flexible, patient, and compassionate approach to teaching.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Previous experience working within alternative provision or with students facing barriers to learning.
  • Skills in effective behaviour management and support.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
