Job description

  Tutor Wanted – Supporting Disengaged Learners Across Core Subjects

Are you passionate about helping students re-engage with learning and reach their potential?

We are seeking dedicated and empathetic Tutors to work with disengaged pupils across core curriculum subjects (English, Maths, and Science). This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people who need tailored, consistent support to thrive academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 sessions tailored to individual needs

  • Plan and adapt lessons across core curriculum areas

  • Build positive, supportive relationships that foster engagement and trust

  • Track progress and provide regular feedback to carers/teachers/LAs using our bespoke reporting platform

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) desirable, or must have substantial and relevant experience working with disengaged or vulnerable learners

  • Strong subject knowledge in core curriculum areas

  • Patience, resilience, and a flexible approach to teaching

  • Ability to motivate and inspire pupils who may lack confidence or face barriers to learning

This role may involve working in alternative provision, schools, or community settings, and requires a proactive, compassionate individual who can create a safe and effective learning environment.

Hours: Flexible
Rate: £25 - £35 per hour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
