Trainee Welsh-Medium Teaching Assistant – Vale of Glamorgan

Location: Vale of Glamorgan

Hours: 08:30 – 15:30 (Monday to Friday)

Pay: £89.38 per day (paid weekly)

Start Date: September 1st, 2025

Are you a fluent Welsh speaker looking to start your career in education? Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a Trainee Teaching Assistant to support Welsh-medium primary schools in the Vale of Glamorgan.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate, recent college leaver, or anyone passionate about working with children to gain valuable experience in the classroom. No formal TA qualification is required — full training and support will be provided!

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Supporting pupils aged 4–11 in a range of classroom activities — all through the medium of Welsh

• Assisting the class teacher in delivering creative and engaging lessons

• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils who may need extra help

• Helping to manage classroom behaviour in a positive and consistent way

• Preparing resources, tidying learning areas, and encouraging independent learning

We’re Looking For Someone Who Is:

• Fluent in Welsh (spoken and written – essential)

• Friendly, patient, and reliable

• Eager to learn and take on feedback

• Passionate about supporting children’s learning and well-being

• Able to commit to full-time work, Monday to Friday

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
