Temporary HLTA role

Blackburn with Darwen Primary School

Part time working hours (3 days a week)

Planning and delivering across KS1 and KS2

Looking for a part time HLTA job? Working 3 full days in the week?

Do you see yourself working in a GOOD Ofsted school from September where you can plan and deliver high quality lesson content, impact on children's learning and develop basic English and Maths skills?

I may have a role of interest…

The Head teacher of said school approached Teaching Personnel last week in order to put the feelers out there for a qualified HLTA to work part time from September for the full academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity as the school provide a really welcoming environment for all the staff members who join the team. The Head teacher is reasonably new to the Head ship and so she is still finding her feet in terms of the staffing team she is working with. She is very honest and to the point, she is supportive and will give all her staff the right tools in order to be successful in school.

Within this role you will be expected to plan and deliver across a number of year groups and so your Curriculum knowledge and level of Maths and English must be of a high standard. The candidate who has worked in this role for the past 4 months mentioned that the role is really exciting and varied as you get to work in different classes each week. Apparently the behaviour of the children can be quite difficult at times but the candidate currently in school noted that this can be managed through good rewards and sanctions; using the school's behaviour policy consistently.

The school will be using Teaching Personnel in order to arrange the cover for this role. The role will last for 12 months from September 2019 to July 2020. As this is a long term role, you will be expected to get involved in the daily running of the school and may be asked to help out at school productions and on educational visits. So it is important that you are flexible with your working hours and happy to pick up additional hours in the working week.

In order to be considered for this role you must have the following;

HLTA status or Qualified Teacher Status

Experience in planning and delivering across a number of Primary year groups

Strong presence in the class room with strong behaviour management

Flexibility with additional working hours in the week
