Team Teach TA – Burnley Primary School
Are you a TEAM TEACH qualified teaching assistant?
Are you looking for a behaviour support role where you can impact on learning and behaviour?
Could you see yourself working in a 1:1 capacity, building a strong relationship with the child and parents?
The Head teacher at a school, in Nelson (BB9) have approached Teaching Personnel in order to source a specialist support assistant who has strong behaviour management and experience working alongside an individual child with challenging behaviour.
The child is due to arrive in school in September 2022 and from previous experience upon starting a new school, has struggled to settle. The Head teacher has promptly put an action plan in place for a member of staff to support the child using a structure and routine which doesn’t enable him to disrupt others, hence the position opening for a temporary member of staff. Other members of staff within the school have described the child as a vibrant and bright child who sometimes struggles to stay focused on his work and would benefit from 1:1 support.
The successful candidate must:
- Hold a recent TEAM TEACH qualification that is in date.
- Have a Level 2 or above Teaching and Learning qualification.
- Have recent experience in the last 12 months working alongside primary aged children.
- Be able to provide at least two education-based references from your most recent employers; preferably HEAD and SENCO or DEPUTY.
- Have the enthusiasm and commitment to work alongside a child with particularly aggressive behaviour.
The role will be to start as of October 2022. The working hours are 830-1530. You will also be expected to work during lunchtime for 30 minutes. Your line manager will be the SENCO in school who is approachable and happy to support with the child’s behaviour plan and education plan.
The School is currently in a transitional stage and are pushing for a GOOD Ofsted grading. The support of Special Educational Needs is currently GOOD and this is something the school are particularly proud of.
If you would be interested in the above position and have previous experience of working with children that display challenging behaviour, then please contact Beth in the Preston Primary office or submit an up to date CV and we will be in touch.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role as well as the Right to Work in the UK. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
