TEAM TEACH qualified Support Assistant required

Date posted : 21/03/18
£9 - £10 per hour + CPD

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Are you a TEAM TEACH qualified teaching assistant?

Are you looking for a behaviour support role where you can impact on learning and behaviour?

Could you see yourself working in a 1:1 capacity, building a strong relationship with the child and parents?

If you answered YES to the above questions then please do not hesitate to contact me in the office.

The Head teacher at the school, in BB3 DARWEN has approached me today in order to source a specialist support assistant who has strong behaviour management and experience working alongside an individual child with challenging behaviour. The staff currently working with the individual child are TEAM TEACH qualified and use a range of strategies to prevent challenging and disruptive behaviour.

The child has just arrived in school and has not manged to settle well in the first couple of weeks. With this in mind, the Head teacher has promptly put an action plan in place for a member of staff to support the child using a structure and routine which doesn't enable him to disrupt others. However, the member of staff is now being moved to work with another child, hence the position opening for a temporary member of staff.

You must hold a recent TEAM TEACH qualification that is in date.

You must have a Level 2 or above Teaching and Learning qualification.

You must have recent experience in the last 12 months working alongside primary aged children.

You must be able to provide at least two education based references from your most recent employers; preferably HEAD and SENCO or DEPUTY.

You must be able to take up a full time teaching assistant position in a DARWEN school.

The role will be to start ASAP. The working hours are 830-1530. You will also be expected to work during lunchtime for 30 minutes. Your line manager will be the SENCO in school who is approachable and happy to support with the child's behaviour plan and education plan.

The School is currently improving and on their Improvement Plan is the behaviour of children with Special Educational Needs, so this is a huge focus at present. Therefore the Head teacher is needing a practitioner who can hit the ground running and build strong relationships.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
