Teaching Assistant to work with Autism

A SEN School IN Slough has a long term job for a SEND Teaching Assistant to start after February half term until the end of the academic year. The school provides primary, secondary and post 16 pupils with Social Emotional Mental Health Needs, Autism, ADHD, and Physical Disabilities. This role you will be working with a small group of children with Autism and Speech Language Needs. You will assist in the educational and social development of these pupils under the direction of SENCo and class teacher. You will provide support to the pupil inside and outside of the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities. You will support the pupil with their learning and social well being within the school.

Ideally you will have experience of working with children and young people with special education needs in particular Autism. You will have an outgoing and engaging approach to your work and be able to support and encourage the development of pupils that you work with. Experience of visual timetables, interactive play, PECs and visual systems is desirable. Knowledge of education and health care plans is desirable.
