Teaching Assistant - Speech and Language Support

Primary School, BS8 - September Start
Are you passionate about working with children and looking for a rewarding career in education? We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to provide speech and language support at a friendly and welcoming primary school in BS8 from September.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a real difference in the lives of children with communication needs. No qualifications or school experience needed. Just bring your enthusiasm and we will provide the training.
The role:
- Supporting pupils with speech and language needs in the classroom alongside the class teacher
- Working one to one or in small groups with children who need extra help with their communication skills
- Helping children build confidence in speaking, listening and understanding
- Using visual aids, games and activities to support language development
- Building positive relationships and encouraging progress
- Preparing resources and assisting with classroom activities
What we are looking for:
- A genuine passion for supporting children
- Patience, empathy and a can do attitude
- Strong communication skills
- Reliability and commitment
- An enhanced DBS check (we can help you apply for this if you do not have one)
Experience that could be useful:
No school experience? No problem. If you have worked with children in any of these settings, your skills will transfer brilliantly:
- Summer camps or holiday clubs
- Swimming teaching or sports coaching
- Play work or after school clubs
- Tutoring or mentoring
- Childminding or nursery work
- Youth groups, scouts or guides

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
