KS2 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - BS4 Bristol - Full Time - September Start

Location: BS4, Bristol

Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm

Start Date: September 2026

Are you a patient and nurturing Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding 1:1 role? We are working with a lovely primary school in the BS4 area of Bristol who are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a child in KS2 with additional needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with SEN experience who can bring a calm, consistent and supportive approach to help a child flourish in their learning and build their confidence throughout the school year.

 

The Role:

•Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a KS2 pupil with additional needs
•Supporting the child to access classroom learning and stay engaged with activities
•Helping with transitions, daily routines and tasks throughout the school day
•Encouraging independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours
•Supporting social skills, communication and emotional regulation
•Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to track progress
•Creating a calm, structured and nurturing environment for the child

We Are Looking For:

•Experience supporting children with SEN in a school setting (essential)
•A calm, patient and reassuring approach
•Someone who enjoys being active and spending time outdoors
•A sporty or outdoorsy personality would be a great fit for this role
•A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
•Ability to stay positive and composed in challenging situations
•Strong communication and relationship building skills
•Reliability, professionalism and a commitment to safeguarding
•An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
