Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Foundation Phase (Speech and Language Support)

Location: Cardiff

Salary: £77 per day

Contract Type: Full Time, Temporary

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm

Start: Monday 15^th January 2024

One of our client Primary School are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their Foundation Phase team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing one-to-one support to children who require speech and language support. This is a temporary position until the end of the academic year initially, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on children's lives.

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one support to children in the Foundation Phase who require speech and language support.
• Work closely with the class teacher and other professionals to implement strategies to improve communication skills.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for children.
• Monitor and record the progress of children, documenting observations and providing feedback to the class teacher and parents.
• Create a safe and nurturing learning environment for the children.
• Promote inclusivity and ensure equal access to education for all children.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably within the Foundation Phase
• Knowledge of speech and language development in young children
• Understanding of different speech and language difficulties and interventions
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues and external professionals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, compassion, and empathy towards children with diverse needs
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and adapting strategies for individual children.
• Enhanced child workforce DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
• Register with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
• Provide 2 years of references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
