Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant for a school in Bournemouth, provision for pupils aged 7-16 who have been assessed as having social, emotional and/or mental health difficulties. Within this school, pupils are taught in small groups with each class being allocated a specific teaching assistant who supports them in all subjects. The school offers a personalised curriculum including practical workshops in the high school as well as a range of opportunities for physical exercise for those who benefit from releasing their extra/negative energy. To supplement this, the pupils are offered emotional literacy and PSHE sessions to support their motional as well as academic development. The ideal candidate for this role would be:

  • A calm and patient practitioner
  • Professional or personal experience of SEN
  • Dedicated and committed to making a real change in young people’s lives.

Your role at the school would be to assist the class teacher and possibly support other TA’s in the room throughout the school day. Your main duties will include helping pupils with their work, assistance in group work activities, providing an alternative environment for the pupils to work to promote the pupils progress and help them reach their full potential.

What we expect from you:

  • A DBS on the Update Service/willingness to get one
  • An availability of five days a week
  • Willingness to work between 08:30-15:30

  • GBP9.50 an hour or above
  • 13 weeks off per year.
