Job description

Teaching Assistant SEMH – Full-Time (Temp to Perm)
Location: Chorley, Lancashire
Start Date: ASAP

We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting in Chorley. This is a full-time position with an immediate start, offering a 12-week temporary-to-permanent transition for the right candidate.

This role is ideal for individuals who are committed to supporting students with additional needs and can demonstrate a consistent, punctual, and professional approach to their work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide classroom support to students with a range of additional needs
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and structured lessons
  • Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Must be punctual, reliable, and able to commit to full-time hours
  • A proactive and resilient attitude
  • Experience working with children or young people (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine interest in supporting students with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
