SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time

Location: Preston
Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:45am – 3:30pm
Pay Rate: £14.30 per hour
Start: ASAP / Ongoing


About the Role

A caring and inclusive primary school in Preston is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full‑time basis. This role involves providing tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs, helping them access learning, build confidence, and thrive in the classroom.

If you have a passion for supporting children with additional needs and creating positive learning opportunities, this role could be ideal for you.


Your Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 or small‑group SEN support
  • Implementing targeted learning strategies under teacher/ SENCO guidance
  • Supporting pupils with a range of needs, such as ASD, ADHD, speech & language, SEMH, or learning delays
  • Helping pupils regulate emotions and behaviour
  • Assisting with classroom routines and personalised learning plans
  • Promoting independence, engagement, and wellbeing
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and parents

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience supporting children with SEN (school‑based preferred)
  • Calm, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to follow personalised support plans
  • Reliability and commitment to Monday–Friday, 08:45am–3:30pm
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
