Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs? Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a number of welcoming and inclusive primary schools across Lancaster, Morecambe, and surrounding areas, and we are seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join their teams from September 2026.

The Role

As a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

Who We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN or education setting
  • A patient, caring, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
