Job Title: Part-Time Teaching Assistant (Primary School)

Location: Wellingborough, Kettering, or Corby, Northamptonshire

Working Hours: 2-3 days a week, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Salary: £80 - £90 per day

Job Type: Part-Time/Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Part-Time Teaching Assistant to join our primary school team in either Wellingborough, Kettering, or Corby. This role offers the opportunity to work 2-3 days a week, providing invaluable support to students and teachers. If you have experience in primary education and a strong background in working with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN), we invite you to apply for this rewarding position.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. 1:1 Support: Provide personalized support and assistance to children with SEN, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.

  2. Small Group Support: Assist in small group activities and interventions designed to address specific learning needs.

  3. Curriculum Support: Collaborate with teachers to deliver lessons and activities that align with the school's curriculum and individualized education plans (IEPs).

  4. Behavior Management: Implement effective behavior management strategies to create a positive and respectful learning environment.

  5. Progress Monitoring: Track and document the progress of students, highlighting areas where additional support is required.

  6. Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, other teaching assistants, and SENCOs to ensure that all students receive the necessary support.

  7. Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.

  8. Resource Management: Organize and manage resources, including specialized equipment and materials for SEN support.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
  • Experience working 1:1 with children who have SEN.
  • Knowledge of various SEN conditions and strategies to support them.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children with SEN succeed.
  • Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check clearance (or willingness to obtain one).
