Teaching assistant required for Primary SEN post in Bury

Our partner client school is on Ofsted graded 'outstanding' provision which caters for the Primary age group. The young people in this school have various barriers to learning ranging from Severe Learning Difficulties, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, and Autism Spectrum Condition. The school are now hoping to employ a Teaching assistant who can support and reflect the school's 'outstanding' ethos to support in an EYFS Autism class from September.

The EYFS class where the successful Teaching assistant will be deployed has two permanently employed Teaching Assistants and a Fully Qualified Teacher. The main element of the successful Teaching assistant's role will be to work 1:1 helping the young people engage and supporting the class Teacher.

This role will involve supporting children who are at different stages of the spectrum. Some of the children are non-verbal and therefore require an adaptable Teaching assistant who can communicate using alternative methods such as PECS.

* be able to manage and engage young people with additional needs

* Previous experience supporting young people with SEN

* have experience of working within a specialist school
