Turn Your Sporting Background Into a Meaningful Career

Are you a Sports Graduate looking for a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference to young people's lives?

Many of the most successful Teaching Assistants we've worked with have come from sporting backgrounds. Whether you've studied Sports Science, Physical Education, Coaching, Exercise Science, Sports Therapy, or a related subject, the skills you've developed can be highly valuable in the classroom.

This isn't a PE teaching role. Instead, you'll use the qualities developed through sport (communication, resilience, leadership, teamwork, and motivation) to support students with their learning and personal development.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting students in lessons on a one-to-one and small-group basis
  • Helping young people remain engaged and focused in the classroom
  • Building positive relationships with students and staff
  • Encouraging confidence, resilience, and a positive attitude towards learning
  • Supporting students with additional learning needs where required
  • Working alongside teachers to create a structured and supportive learning environment
  • Acting as a positive role model and mentor for young people

Why Sports Graduates Excel in Education

People from sporting backgrounds often bring:

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • High levels of resilience and adaptability
  • The ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Confidence working with young people
  • A disciplined and proactive approach
  • Experience supporting individuals to achieve goals and overcome challenges

Schools value these qualities because they help students develop both academically and personally.

We're Looking For

  • A degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, Coaching, Exercise Science, Sports Therapy, Sports Management, or a related subject
  • A passion for supporting young people
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive, energetic, and professional attitude
  • The ability to commit to a full-time role from September

Previous experience in schools is welcomed but not essential.

What's On Offer?

  • Daily pay of £92–£105 per day
  • Full-time, Monday to Friday hours
  • Term-time only working pattern
  • Ongoing training and support
  • Valuable experience working within education
  • The opportunity to make a lasting impact on young people's lives
  • Excellent experience for future careers in teaching, psychology, youth work, counselling, social work, or coaching

If you're a Sports Graduate looking to apply your skills in a new and rewarding environment, we'd love to hear from you.
